La primera vez que escuche sobre la Galería Laberinto y el trabajo de Janine Janowski, fue a través de las anécdotas de otros artistas, historias sobre los eventos llamados  “Vivencias” y los proyectos experimentales que se realizaron a finales de los años 70 y durante la década del 80; una historia oral que ha ido evolucionando con el paso del tiempo y que varía en la proyección mental de cada persona que lo relata y la que lo escucha. 

“Retrato Hablado” es un ejercicio de reconstrucción gráfica a través de los testimonios de los artistas y gente que trabajo o estuvo ligada a la Galería Laberinto. Para el proyecto se realizaron varias entrevistas a los artistas de la época para que me describieran los proyectos mas experimentales que realizaron en la galería, ya que de los mismos no quedo casi ningún registro. Después de grabar sus testimonios, y con la ayuda de dos dibujantes, recreamos esas piezas a través de dibujos e impresiones digitales. El resultado es un collage de dibujos e interpretaciones en papel sobre las "míticas" piezas que se realizaron en ese lugar. Un mapa mental que reconstruye a base de testimonios el trabajo de las personas ligadas a la galería y a Janine Janowski como gestora y su legado y aporte en el desarrollo del arte contemporáneo de la época.

The first time I heard about the Labyrinth Gallery and the work of Janine Janowski, it was through anecdotes from other artists, stories about the events called “Vivencias” and the experimental projects that were carried out in the late 70s and during the 80's decade; an oral history that has evolved over time and that varies in the mental projection of each person who tells it and the person who listens to it.

“Spoken Portrait” is an exercise in graphic reconstruction through the testimonies of the artists and people who worked or were linked to the Laberinto Gallery. For the project, several interviews were conducted with the artists of the time so that they could describe the most experimental projects they carried out in the gallery, since almost no record remains of them. After recording their testimonies, and with the help of two illustrators, we recreated those pieces through drawings and digital prints. The result is a collage of drawings and interpretations on paper about the "mythical" pieces that were made in that place. A mental map that reconstructs, based on testimonies, the work of people linked to the gallery and Janine Janowski as manager and her legacy and contribution to the development of contemporary art of the time.
